A new online tool is available to support Ohioans caring for children of relatives and family friends.

Ohio Legal Help is a statewide non-profit group trying to make the legal system easy by eliminating as many barriers as possible, including language.

Ohio Legal Help gives Ohioans easy access to legal information at the touch of a button. But for Spanish-speaking Ohioans that wasn't the case until now as Ohio Legal Help launched a new website in Spanish.

When it comes to accessing legal information and resources, language should never be a barrier. The Migration Policy Institute estimates that roughly 24.8% of Ohio’s Spanish-speaking households — approximately 62,000 people — live below 100% of the federal poverty level.

A new study, commissioned by The Pew Charitable Trusts, has examined legal assistance portal accessibility, usability, and effectiveness. The researchers found that LawHelpMN and Ohio Legal Help were exemplary in terms of their content and functionality.
