The Municipal Court hears cases involving traffic, non-traffic misdemeanors, violations of municipal ordinances, evictions, and civil claims that are $15,000 or less.

Research Opportunity
Pew Charitable Trusts and the Civil Legal System Modernization Project are researching how people in Akron, Ohio discover that they've been sued for debt collection, and how they respond. To do this, researchers want to talk to Ohioans who have been involved with a debt collection lawsuit and learn more about their experiences. 

Eligible participants must have been sued for debt collection in Akron, Ohio in the past five years, be over the age of 18 and speak English. Interviews will be 30 minutes over phone or video conference and interviewees will receive a $40 gift card. Follow this link and answer a few questions to sign up for an interview.
